When nest are in walls treat with Invader or PT 565 PI.

ARGENTINE ANTS Argentine ants are very aggressive and eliminate other kind of ants in the area. Outdoors treat with Demand Pestab or Tempo WP. Indoors treat with Advance Dual Choice Ant Bait, Gourmet Ant Bait Gel or Maxforce Fine Granule Insect Bait. Where ants are nesting in walls use Invader or PT 565 PI and inject inside wall.

CARPENTER ANTS Carpenter ants are most notable because they are among the largest ants found and are typically black but sometimes red and black (Florida carpenter ant). They do not eat wood but they excavate galleries or tunnels in the wood hence their name. Locating the nest(s) is most important in controlling carpenter ants, then eliminating moisture conditions and conducive conditions like overhanging tree limbs and firewood. Nest(s) can be indoors and/or outdoors. Large numbers of winged adults ants indicate that the nest(s) are indoors. After locating indoor nest(s) drill small holes and treat with Invader or Delta Dust. Outdoors treat active areas with Demand Pestabs, Demon WP or Tempo WP. Also granular baits are effective in and outdoors like Advance Carpenter Ant Bait or Maxforce Carpenter Ant Bait Gel. Maxforce Carpenter Ant Bait Gel is effective indoors.

CRAZY ANTS Crazy ants get their name from the erratic way the run about searching for food. They are relatively small light brown to black. Use a residual insecticide like Demand Pestab, Demon WP or Tempo WP. Nests in walls treat with Invader or PT 565 PI.

FIRE ANTS These ants are called fire ants because their venomous stings cause serious pain and sometimes severe reactions and even death in sensitive people, pets and young wildlife. Begin your control of these ants outside by broadcasting Over'N Out or Ascend Fire Ant Bait, then treating all active ants areas with Demand Pestabs or Tempo WP. Indoors use Demand Pestabs, Tempo WP or Maxforce Fine Granule Insect Bait.

THIEF ANTS Thief ants are tiny ants; the workers are usually less than 1/16 inch long. They look much like Pharaoh ants yellow to light brown. Thief ants steal board and food from other ants nest. They usually nest outdoors in and near areas of bare ground and under stones. When found indoors they are usually found in wall voids in kitchens, around sinks, bathrooms also where food is stored. All cracks and seams in exterior walls should be sealed to close access. The best control measure is to treat wall voids with a residual insecticide like Invader HPX or with a dust like Delta Dust. Exterior nest should be treated with a residual like Demon WP or Demand Pestabs.

PHARAOH ANTS Pharaoh ants are very small and are yellow to light brown. They nest in walls, under floors, wall sockets, cracks , under baseboards and in and under furniture. Baiting and eliminating competing food sources is the best way to control these ants. Gourmet Ant Bait Gel, Advance Dual Choice Bait, Maxforce FC Ant Bait Stations or Maxforce Fine Granule Insect Bait are excellent for controlling these ants. Be sure to place baits in areas where ants are seen inaccessible to children and pets.

bees

CARPENTER BEES Carpenter bees are large and look like bumblebees. They bore holes in wood to create tunnels to raise their young. Wood that is untreated can be protected by using Timbor, Tempo WP or Demand Pestabs. Several days after treatment seal treated holes.

HONEY BEES Honey bees live in colonies or hives with as many as 20,000-80,000 workers. They are not naturally aggressive; but when threatened they will sting. When honey bees are within a wall there are two options. 1: Remove the living colony. This requires and an experienced beekeeper. 2: Kill the colony using Delta Dust and/or PT 565 PI. Always wear protective clothing when removing or killing the colony.

fleas & ticks

CAT/DOG FLEAS There are three vital steps to flea control, sanitation, insecticide treatment and animal flea treatment. First vacuum thoroughly and discard used vacuum cleaner bag. Pet bedding must be washed or discarded also. Secondly treat indoors and/or outdoors with a residual insecticide like Demand Pestabs, Tempo WP or Demon WP in combination with an insect growth regulator like IG Regulator. On hardwood floors use Ultracide or Precor 2000. Thoroughness and making sure to treat areas frequented by pet(s) is crucial for control. Thirdly, treat the pet(s) at the same time of the indoor and/or outdoor treatment. Use Frontline Plus based on the size and type of pet.

TICKS Ticks are 1/8 to 1/2 inch long. The body is flattened and shaped like a tear. They infest homes and kennels and are almost exclusively parasitic to dogs. Seldom do they live on humans. A three step approach is needed to control ticks. 1) Sanitation, 2) indoor and outdoor tick control, 3) tick control on dog(s). Infested house(s) and kennel(s) should be thoroughly cleaned indoor vacuuming is vital. Residual insecticides like Demon WP or Demand Pestabs should be applied to houses, kennels, dog houses and all areas of pet frequented areas. Dog(s) should be treated with Frontline Plus or Petcor. Outdoors treat grassy and bushy areas near house, kennel, under porches and other areas where dog(s) spend time with Demon WP or Demand Pestabs.

flies

FLIES Flies are controlled by first focusing on identification of the fly. Then sanitation is the next most important step. The breeding site or source must be eliminated. After these steps are taken elimination of adult flies by using a non residual aerosol like CB 80 Extra or PT 565 PI. Outdoor control follows the same procedure. Use Zoecon Golden Malrin Fly Bait for outdoor control.

Spiders

BLACK WIDOW SPIDERS Black widow spiders has two triangular red spots on its underside that looks like an hourglass. Death rarely occurs from the bite of the spider but it is the anaphylactic reaction in most cases that causes death. Control of black widow spiders involves removing clutter and debris inside and outside buildings. Use a liquid insecticide residual like Demon WP or Tempo WP. In enclosed areas a nonresidual aerosol like PT 565 PI is very effective. Use Cobweb Eliminator to discourage web reformation and a vacuum cleaner to remove spiders, webs, and egg sacs.

BROWN RECLUSE SPIDERS Brown recluse spiders are best described by the violin-shaped dark mark behind the eyes. Brown recluse spiders bite is very painful and can develop into an unsightly slow healing sore. Control of brown recluse spiders involves removing clutter inside and outside buildings. Use a liquid residual insecticide like Demon WP or Tempo WP inside and outside. A nonresidual aerosol like PT 565 PI is very effective in enclosed areas. Use Cobweb Eliminator to discourage web reformation and a vacuum cleaner to remove spiders, webs and eggs sacs.

Termites

DRYWOOD TERMITES Drywood termites are primarily found in the southern part of the United states. The first signs of infestation are swarmers or the accumulation of fecal pellets below “kick out” holes. Control of drywood termites is usually done with a fumigant like sulfuryl fluoride or methyl. Heat treatment are also available. Where a localized spot treatment is needed use Nisus Bora-care and Nisus Jecta or Nisus Timbor. When building a home or wooden structure Bora-care should be used to treat all wood members inside and outside as a pre-treatment for drywood termites.

FORMOSAN TERMITES Formosan termites are imported termites larger than native subterranean termites. They are pale yellow to brownish yellow. This the most destructive termite which infest structures. The can eat over 13 linear feet of pine studs in 1 year. A professional termite service person is recommended for treatment of Formosan termites. When building a home or wooden structure Bora-care should be used to treat all wood members inside and outside as a pre-treatment for Formosan termites.

SUBTERRANEAN TERMITES Subterranean termites can be found in both the Northern and Southern Hemispheres. Subterranean termites colonies usually are located in the soil from which the build mud shelter tubes to the structural wood the feed . Subterranean are always connected to the soil and moisture. Subterranean termite infestations can go unnoticed for years until they swarm from or inside a structure. The first step to control subterranean termites is to remove and soil to wood contact. Then repair or fix and water leaks or moisture problems. Then treatment can be done by either soil treatment or baiting. When building a home or wooden structure Bora-care should be used to treat all wood members inside and outside as a pre-treatment for subterranean termites.
